Jewellery Manifest is Jonathan Boyd’s first publication and in it he sets out to discuss and give context to ten years of his practice, unpicking thoughts on jewellery, language, the digital and narrativity in objects.  Within the book Jonathan draws on philosophical, anthropological and autobiographical discourse using image and textual montage to deconstruct both his jewellery and the printed book format deployed in presenting his practice. Jonathan Burton appointed as CEO of Cockpit

Cockpit, London’s leading centre for contemporary craft, have announced that Jonathan Burton has been appointed as CEO. He replaces Annie Warburton, who stepped down in December 2023, and will assume his role at Cockpit in late April 2024.  Immersed in the arts throughout his career, working across opera, fine art and crafts, Jonathan has a strong understanding of craft and making. Loewe announces winner of Craft Prize

Launched by the Loewe Foundation in 2016    to celebrate excellence in modern craftsmanship, the   Loewe    Craft Prize has announced its winning entries  of 2017. Ernst  Gamperl  of Germany was awarded the prize for his work  ‘Tree of Life 2’,  selected from among   26 finalists . His creation was chosen by a distinguished jury of leading figures in design, architecture, journalism and museum curatorship.     Ernst  Gamperl  received a silver trophy from iconic actress Charlotte  Rampling , along with a cash prize of 50,000 euros.
